  4.       Thank you for obtaining this demo of TMM v4.0. You probably got it thru
  5. the efforts of one of our users spreading the word and the demo, but however you
  6. came upon it, please take a second to read this file - it will not only give you
  7. insight into what you've got, but also tell you how to run it.

  18. • Customize Screen/Window Arrangement! 
  19. • Configure message base Attributes (Restriction Flags, Max Msg Length, etc).

  21. • Maintain an Address Book of frequently used Names & Groups! 
  22. • Tag Messages for Easy Access! 
  23. • And TMM is System 7.0 & MultiFinder Compatible!

  26.                               INSTALLATION

  28.       To install TMM, simply drag the TMM application icon onto your disk. DO
  29. NOT use the original. TMM can be run from anywhere, it does not need to be in
  30. the SSH folder. However, TMM does expect to find its own TMM Prefs and TMM
  31. Address Book files in the same folder the TMM application is in. (Don’t worry,
  32. you aren’t missing any files, TMM will create these files for you.)

  34.       TMM assumes that you have a functional Second Sight Host (SSH) BBS system
  35. up and running. It will check and do what it can to recover from erroneus info,
  36. but TMM can only do so much. It is crucial that your host CONFIG file is setup
  37. properly, since TMM uses this file in order to find the other Host files it
  38. needs to access. If your BBS is running, then you should have no problems.

  40.       When you first run TMM, it will ask you to locate your SSH CONFIG file. It
  41. will remember the location, unless you move the file, or delete the TMM Prefs
  42. file.

  45.                              DEMO LIMITATIONS
  46.  
  47.       Ok, all of the previous remarks apply not only to the demo version but the
  48. real version of TMM 4.0 as well. Now for the specifics on the demo version: we
  49. pondered long and hard on what would be the best way to provide a demo, or
  50. crippled copy of TMM to prospective users, and we feel like we came up with
  51. something that should work pretty well: this version allows you to work with the
  52. first three sections of your message base. We think that since you will have
  53. access to all functions except for backup, you will be able to fairly judge if
  54. TMM is right for you. The real version of TMM 4.0 also includes full online
  55. documentation in the Help window.

  57.       So use TMM for awhile on your first three sections - traverse through
  58. them, reply to msgs, etc, etc, and if you don't soon discover that TMM is the
  59. product you've been waiting for, then please take it and pass it onto someone
  60. else who you think might find it more useful. We only ask that you send the
  61. original StuffIt'ed demo file so that it will not have your configuration
  62. parameters and it will include the pertinent textfiles along with it (like this
  63. one!)

  65.       We encourage you to explore the demo thoroughly to get a full
  66. understanding of all that it can do for you. TMM is far from a simple utility -
  67. in reality it is a suite of utilities all accessible from within the same
  68. environment. We do hope that you will find TMM to be as indispensible as we
  69. always have, and that it saves you much time and many headaches in maintaining
  70. your BBS. Afterall, very few of us actually make money running BBS's, so we
  71. might as well not have to go thru hell just to maintain it.
